It has four years of MOTs missing, and would it be a true factory colour.

If it has all the features as advertised it would seem to be worth the money.

However, as with all second hand cars it needs a good coat of looking at.---:D:D:D

It's not a factory duotone car, the missing four years MOT are due to it being off the road in Prof Dave's tenure of ownership, and the MOT it currently wears...........well I shall say I have my doubts, as it was driven across to my place piddling out fuel from leaking o rings on the fuel rail, fresh, as in wet underseal on the sills, and with a variety of faults that would have precluded all but the most lenient of "Stevie Wonder" tests.

ABS and traction control fault

SRS DCU defective, along with both side impact sensors

EWS "modified" with extra relays and wiring to allow the car to be started........in gear

IPK that originated from a Mk2, wasn't coded to the car, at least until I got my hands on it

So if you fancy a Starlight Silver car, with a coat of blue in places, with 150k on the clock, and an MOT not worth the paper it was written on, then this is the car for you ;)

I think you'll find it is Brian ;).....I'd need to double check the reg, but I have photos of the car sitting on the Longbridge factory used car forecourt when I visited in 2003, to see my brand new Tourer going down the production line.

Can't believe the factory would have been selling a 75, less than 12 months old, that an 'outsider' had duotoned ???

I sent the pics across to Prof Dave a few years ago, so 99.9% certain it's the same car :}

The paint code is MBB, I have the photo of the VIN plate ;)

All of the factory duotones have a duotone paint code without exception.

It is a reasonable job, but according to a Longbridge source whom I trust, none of the factory cars were painted at the factory, being outsourced to MacNeillie but they all have a paint code reflecting the fact they were non standard paint finish.

What is in absolutely no doubt whatsoever, the MOT this car was issued with when it visited me, was written out without having seen the car at all.

It's a shed which has been bought cheap, and bodged up for sale.......god help the poor soul who buys it :getmecoat:

Brian :D

Thank the club for having people like you here Brian. Let’s hope it does not sell with that risky mot on it.

Canonite 30th September 2019 08:50

I don’t mind the colour combo. I’ve seen worse
As Brian says though, alarm bells should be ringing loud and clear, but I guess it’s price will be whatever someone throws at it. Shouldn’t be seen as anything more than a project

Well someone must have bought it - no longer showing as available.
