How To Covert To Triple Horns
As most of you are aware during the "Project Drive" production of our cars, resulted in later cars, the HIGH tone horn sadly being omitted, to save a couple of quid in production costs.
Well here's a relatively cheap way of putting some great tone back into your horn!! Now the choice is yours here, to either leave the original LOW tone connected for a TRIPLE horn (slight discord sound which I like!) Or Disconnect it & just have a TWIN sound Its a pair of horns on a bracket form Brown & Gammons in Baldock Part no HORNPAIR Price £8 plus VAT & PP. Don't all rush at once buying them as B & G have a habit of putting the price up after sudden demand. The first MG wheel centres I ordered was £4 last week. The next 3 cost me £6 each 2 days later. Procedure Really a job you want to be doing while the front bumper is off. Parts required will be twin wire same thickness (or thicker) as OEM horn wire Qty 4 mini RED spade connectors (as used for speakers) Qty 2 in line splice connectors (or solder to OEM loom if preferred) 1. Remove bumper (described elsewhere on here) 2. Make a wiring loom up approx the width of the car. 3. Bolt twin horns on to subframe (not V8 as washer bottle in the way) 4 Connect new loom to horns 5. Run cable through crash beam to drivers side. (protect all sharp edges with tape) 6. Connect Positive to purple wire of drivers side multiplug (loom side that goes to original horn) 7. Connect negative to thin black in the same loom 8. Test before fitting everything back. These horns BTW are not specifically for 75 ZT's but they just happen to fit exceedingly well:o
