Wire loom corroded most likely.
With engine off, put car into R and listen for clicking from each sensor. Mine all clicked, but the voltage was so low the signal return was out of spec. I had to rebuild wire loom. Bumper off job, loom out and rebuild. It's the only way as the exposed conductors (under some electrical tape) let water travel down insulator and corrode the wires. It also happens from each sensor. To rebuild, do one wire at a time, simply cut a few inches from sensor, remove insulation about one inch, then scrape away oxide layers. Do the best you can. Then solder for best connection. Repeat for all. I used glue lined heatshrink to seal all connections. Takes ages, but worth it. Cheaper than buying 3rd party reversing kit. Oh, I also sealed back of each sensor and connector block with silicone. Far too late now for all of us to stop the rot, but might slow it down. |
Hi, have you cleaned the sensors, I got caught with this myself!
