To confirm, just because the fan has the right number of pins at the plug end does NOT mean it is the right set up. Both petrol and diesel have 5 or 6 pins but the relay boxes are totally different...

The 190 will have either a 4 wire fan or a 2 wire fan, there is no other standard fitting. ( these are the wires that enter the motor itself)
The 4 wire fans are 3 speed and are prone to brush wear....

worth trying to spray some contact cleaner in the breather holes on the plastic cap of the motor. they can get covered in gunk and although they appear to turn when not under load they are quite weak.
