am I right in thinking that if there is no gas in the air con system the air con pump will not kick in. car has been standing for around 5 years .

After turning over for what felt like 20 min it fired up.

Have done a ohms test a per one off the forum and it did work out about right seems ok at the plug on the tank.
One thing I thought was odd loads more on the filler cap side than the passenger side...

I don't think it is. But the pressure is coming from some place.
It's high enough to kick the cap in to releasing it.

And temp was up to 103 and loads of pressure and lots of steam. So looking like hgf on the v6. That's going to hurt the pocket.

But it's doing the same as it did with the old thermostat.
Hence the change of the items.
Coolant rises in header tank then over flows.
No sign of gas or air just rises...

when running right its a nice 93.
just dont get when it hits the 100c and the fan cuts in the coolent over flows the as the temp drops...

Got over taken by a mg today on the south bound side of the m6.

Tonight had the first sign of where the coolant is going.
Was running the car on tick over to get up to temp.
got to 101c and fan kicked in but no sign of the coolant leek.
Went down to around 85c...
