I had the same problem with a "New Mini" It took 3 flushes to get the hydraulic tappets to quieten down. And also the correct spec oil which is most important.;)

Succumbed to Old Age

No Not me well not yet.
But after 17 years the roof lining has succumbed to old age and started to sag, I know this happens a lot but has anyone found a simple solution to hold it back in place?.
