don't think there is a great deal of difference, I have 215 50 17 on my zt, and yes they help fill the arches, although mine will be lower than yours. 225 45 is a bit firmer ride, but not much.

I have a V6 ZT and the 190 back brakes are different to the OE. The calipers are bigger and BMW branded and the discs are vented again the OE were not. Its a good mod to do.
