I doubt the very much that diagnosis is correct, it's more likely to be a sensor that is the issue or your fuelling adaptations that need a reset.

Best to have the car low and raised a little at the passenger side so the oil drains towards the sump plug.

Doesn't really matter if you can do it like this as mine is on 264k doing normal oil...
