I use lightroom for about 85% of the time and sometimes dip into photoshop when things get tough. My camera is always set with single spot A/F for the good reason that I like it that way. My cheapo Pentax KR is great in low light.
I don't know one end of a Canon from the other.
The cheaper end of the DSLR market and the Bridge and Compact market are awash with good makes. Every few months I have a look and a new model and maker looks best, yet in those sectors I have never picked out at Canon or Nikon as favorite.
Mid to high end DSLRs however, Canik come into their own. There are a few other good options but the big two have great range off accesories and lenses.
Pentax make some excellent mid/high end DSLR's which I think are every bit as good as the Canon/Nikon yet if I had the money I would most likely get a Canon/Nikon.
I've always wanted a Nikon and I have no idea why.
