It's programmed with the number of miles which MG Rover considers can be covered between oil changes. It also measures how far you've driven, compares the two and displays the difference.

So long as it meets or exceeds spec. ACEA A2 it will be fine. It can be mineral, semi sythetic or fully synthetic; it's up to you.
