ATF for 75/ZT automatic transmission
This is my own list of suitable ATF:
MG Rover/X Part VYK 000 040/GUL 1805
This is the branded part recommended in MGR handbooks and manuals. Chevron Oil (Texaco) says that it is not the manufacturer..
Land Rover STC 50531
Chevron Oil (Texaco) has said that it makes this fluid for Land Rover and it is their original ATF402.
Smith & Allan ATF402
Highly recommended; order via eBay for FedEx next day delivery at no extra cost.
Comma MVATF Plus
Havoline multi-vehicle ATF
Made by Chevron Lubricants and the data sheet is here (N402 listed under "applications").
Carlube ATF-U
Manufacturer Tetrosyl's data sheet confirming N402 compatibility is here. Thanks to club member pm77 who obtained written confirmation from Shazad Shah, Development Controller: Oils, Tetrosyl Ltd. since this information does not appear on Carlube's website.
Valvoline MaxLife ATF
(please note, not the similarly named 'Maxlife Dex/Merc ATF' which does not meet the MG Rover specification.)
Fuchs Titan ATF 4400
Manufacturer's data here.
Ravenol ATF JF506E
Manufacturer's certificate states that it corresponds to ATF N402 specification. See this post for details. It can be bought directly from Ravenol UK
Granville ATF-MV
Manufacturer's specification here. Available in 1 and 5 litres from motor factors.
Motul Multi-ATF
Manufacturer's data sheet here. Look for "Texaco" at the bottom of the table.
Rock Oil ATF DIII-MV
Here is the Rock oil pdf data sheet confirming N402 compatibility. Unfortunately Rock Oil weren't interested in my request for a local distributor.
Westway Lubricants JATCO N402
eBay item no. 1123 2970 6852 (Jul 2023) 5 litres for £36.00 including delivery.
Made in the UK. Company based in the West Midlands, tel. 01902 854 556
Exol AutoTrans MVA (A036)
The company is based in Wednesbury with a blending plant in Rotherham. The technical data sheet confirms that it meets N402 specification (under Land Rover).
All these are offered as replacements for N402.
Simon.
