If it's this type you are trying to remove, there are two 7mm nut headed brass screws that connect the two lugs (bottom left pic ) to the alt body that are covered in a black silicone /rubber compound.Scrape this off and you will reveal them.





ABOVE
On the type for the 120 amp version of the valeo alt, these lugs are not seperate and constitute two of the three connections that need to be undone to remove it, as opposed to 4 in total on the earlier type.

In all cases irrespective of how many pins are in the replacement regulator pack socket, only two pins are used on all the diesel alternators.
