Fitted a battery to my 214 which has not turned a wheel in eleven months.
Re synced the plip and turned the key........it started as if I'd just been to the shops
It was of course rooted to the spot, so a bit of throttle and some fierce clutch action sorted that out, so a quick trip around the block, then up on the ramps for a replacement centre exhaust section.
Then off to the petrol station, £10 of LPG in the tank (22 litres
) and a run back home to clean off the green slime from the paintwork.
After some Cillit Bang, a wipe over with some Jif and a jolly good scrub, I thought I'd take it out for a short run.
Forty miles later, I returned with a huge smile on my face, I'd forgotten how nice a car this is to drive, quiet, smooth, quick and agile
Off down to Selecta Panel tomorrow morning to see about some bits to replace the brown bits, and a proper going over of the brakes.
So impressed was I by the little lad's resilience to having been completely neglected for almost a year, I'm going to reward him with a complete revamp, followed by the sale of the ZT
Watch this space for a Primertallic ZT diesel, coming your way soon
