Crabbing is what that technique is often called Phil among some in the industry. Another impressive technique is aerodynamic braking which is something which I have seen best performed by the Vulcan V bomber. It is the sit up and beg display as it rolls down the runway nose up and high after landing saving on streaming the brake chute and dropping the nose onto the nosewheel gear close to the end of the runway.
