As a big fan of the original series I must admit that I approached the remake with some trepidation - expecting not to like it. I mean who could play Siegfried Farnon better than Robert Hardy? I needn't have worried - some inspired casting, great scenery and fabulous storylines and acting. Didn't expect to fancy Mrs Hall though - was expecting someone more like Mary Hignett. I'm so used to streaming everything now, I can't remember the last time I eagerly waited a week for the next episode of something on live broadcast tv - but this has got me hooked.
