2 days ago I drove home through some deeper than expected flood waters.

This morning I got in the car started it and tried to engage reverse gear. I was unable to select any gear as if I had zero clutch. Engine off and gear selection was easy. The clutch pedal action felt normal.

No clutch. Then I guessed maybe the clutch plate has rusted onto the flywheel.

Cure I pre-engaged reverse gear and flicked the starter. The car moved back a little bit. Tried set off proceedure again this time no problem. Took the car for a run and everything is fine.

The shock of the starter motor working whilst in gear fixed it. So glad clutch pedal and gear change seem ok.
