Ok managed to check - I have 12v going to pin 3, nothing to pin 6, so looks like that is indeed the problem. However, it is far too rainy and windy here atm to be taking doors off, plus I suspect it will take me a while to figure out how to sort this but at least I know the next step now, and the end is in sight!
