Thanks to all who responded. I have bled the system and I now have a clutch between 3rd and 2nd, it's a bit notchy but works.


The fluid level in the m/cylinder was about 1/2 way and I think I flushed out the old fluid so maybe that was it.


Incidently over the years I've bought many devices to aid bleeding (hand vacuum pump, compressor operated thing) but they ALL leak air, the only method that seems to work is a pipe on the nipple into a jam jar witn fluid in it.


Let's see how long it lasts.
