Compared to the build quality of a Montego, they were a huge step forward (basically to Honda standards). We suddenly started taking back BMW 3 series, Mercedes and Volvo in part exchange.
But the best example was the sale of our first demo, when supply was still limited. Having advertised it, a Caribbean 620, in a national newspaper (ahhh, those were the days..... ), I sold it over the phone to a chap in Bracknell, about 200 miles away, such was the demand.
MGF and 75 were similar at launch, but as we know, the buying public soon move on to something newer.
