Default CD changer - answer

I can only speak for Harmony to Alpine CD changer - which was the option on my 2000 Classic SE. I am currently planning this installation to my car.

The harness VUL100310 is used to connect the CD changer to the Radio and car. This is a 3 way connector consisting:

1) A BMW 17 pin male - connects to car loom behind the ashtray to a similar female socket.
2) A BMW 17 pin female - connects to the Harmony radio, and a 10 pin female that connects to the Harmony radio, just below the 17 pin connector
3) A 10 pin female connector that connects to the cd changer in the glovebox

Since my car was supplied without a changer, this means the harness to connect my Harmony radio to the car is BMW 17 pin female at the top C0981 - and ( I presume since I haven't completed fitting my CD changer yet) a BMW 17 pin male connecting to the car wiring harness.

My used CD changer came with some of what I think is the remains of a VUL100310 it was connected to, and I contemplated using this by splicing onto the C0981 wires for k-bus, power and earth, and connecting the audio to the back of the Harmony connection C1316 - SD1t00 sent me the diagrams from RAVE.

0) VUL100310
1) C0981/C1315 (17 pin socket for Harmony without/with CD changer)
2) Loom connector to CD Changer - I think cut from a VUL100310.
3) 2 twisted audio pairs - connect these to Harmony o/p pins 1/6, and 2/7 , K-bus, 12v +ve feed and earth Connect these to 17 pin wiring
4) CD Changer model number
