It's the old Prius argument again.. All these tree hugging uppity self reitchous Prius drivers telling you quite how much they're doing for the environment, when in truth, the damage done during the manufacture and transport of the Prius far outweight the positive impact of the little AA battery in the boot..

I think the British are too much a nation of car lovers to ever fully embrace this kind of offer if it were to come into force.. I mean, seriously.. You want me to swap my big, comfortable, economical fantastic-looking Rover 75 that I own outright for a BRAND NEW Toyota Aygo and a £5K loan.. Wow.. Doesn't get much more appealing than that.

As Steve quite rightly said, give a man a £2K voucher for money off a car, and you give a dealer an excuse to charge him £2K more..
