Assuming you have Satnav, you do the following:
1. WAIT FOR THE LIGHT ON THE SATNAV COMPUTER TO GO OUT!!!
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Disconnect the cable from the back of the CD changer
4. slide out the radio module and disconnect the cable block on the back of it (requires a serious effort levering it up with a screwdriver or similar. Don't worry, you won't break it).
5. Remove the two smaller plugs from the bottom of the big one (you'll see what I mean). Insert the one furthest from the centre of the radio into the same hole on the Dension big block. This provides TV and Satnav sound.
6. Plug the similar little connector on the Icelink loom into the other slot. Ignore the other one, as this is simply the other end of the CD changer cable.
7. Plug the Icelink connector into the back of the radio.
8. Plug the original connector into the other end of the Icelink loom.
9. Reconnect the battery and follow the instructions for setting up the BMW head unit recognition.
10. Put everything back in place! It should now be working with your first 5 playlists on the Ipod as your first 5 "CDs" on the head unit. The 6th CD button takes you into the menu options. These do seem to work, but can send the head unit display haywire (OK when powered down and back up) so I tend not to bother.
