Many of you will probably already know this but I often see people questioning if their IR remote is working.

Obviously the human eye cannot see IR light but nearly all cameras are IR sensitive. And as most mobile phones come with cameras nowadays, all you need to do is point your phone camera at the IR LED on the end of any remote and press a button on the remote. You should see a flashing light emitting from the LED.

This doesn't tell you that the correct code is being transmitted but the chances are that if the remote is transmitting then its OK.
