Between 3.5 and 4 litres should be the norm. Land rover sell it in litre bottles or you can get 5litres from xpart or rimmers.
By far the easiest way to ensure the correct quantity, is to measure exactly the amount drained and replace with exactly the same quantity in new. Can be done cold if you are worried about the expansion.
