Hi Jim.
quite easy once you have got the carpets peeled back to the anchor bolts each side and lifted the console with the aid of a piece of wood or person helping and work from the right hand side of the car ie nearside /passenger side not for getting to punch in the corners of the carpet to gain access to the torx bolts T27 below is the most recent photos taken of fitting if they help anymore than the original ones in the thread. Arctic.

Seats forward as far as possible drivers side down and forward then using a long posidrive screw driver remove the two console side screws.

Remove screws Fig 1
1

Remove handbrake gaiter cover and grip Fig 2
2

Now using a deep 13mm socket undo the handbrake adjuster not to end of the thread Fig 3
3

Now the adjuster nut is at the end of the thread take handbrake off fully ie no clicks.Fig 4
4

Next go to the rear of the console remove the ash tray and take out the two 10mm nuts again with rachet spanner if you have one. Fig 5
5

Now you can remove the carpet kickers both sides near side wiil push to front of car and the other to the rear do not pull off or you will damage the clips Fig 6/7
6

7

Next remove the rubber door trim about 12" up the door jam and along the sill both sides Fig 8/9
8

9

Next pull away the plastic cover either side from its clips just a little, then lift the corner of the seat squab and pull out the carpet from the square lug it wraps round and peel back to anchor point both sides Fig 10
10

Now prop up the console or get someone ti lift it for you so you can get to the compensator front part with the black clip and remove the black clip keeping it safe to replace later. Fig 11
11

Next cut the little piece of carpet about 2" under the console this will not be seen later when fixed back but helps just that little more when lifting the carpet up to get to the rear compensator part to remove the rear cables. Fig 12
12

Now you can lift the carpet and punch in bothsides to gain access to the compensator cover held down with three T27 Torx bolts Fig 13
13

Undo the three torx bolts one either side and one on the top Fig 14
14

This done you can remove the cover and then remove the compensator from the front and rear cables Fig 15
15

Once removed you can fit the modifed compensator front cable first and replace the black clip. Fig 16
16

then the two rear cables once these are fitted pull the handbrake up two clicks to take up the little slack .Fig 17
17

Fit back the compesator cover with the torx bolts Fig 18
18

Remove the wooden prop if used or let down the console being held by your helper if you are using one. Fig 19
19

Fit carpet back under the rear seat and along the sill Fig 20
20

Bolt down the rear console with the two 10mm bolts Fig 21
21

Now with the handbrake still on the two clicks from before adjust the nut down to 25mm Fig 22/23
22

23

Refit the handbrake gaiter and the two screws from the side of the console of both seats, test hand brake should be on 3/4 clicks if not adjust at rear brakes first by undoing the adjuster nut back to end of thread adjust so shoes are just grabbing/biting then release by a click of the curled nut you maybe lucky and not have to do this i have fitted a few which did not need adjusinting at the rear drums, other they have had to be adjusted so please use this as only a guide not as gospel hope this helps you along there is more info with the link below Arctic.
