There was a suggested video whilst the one in the OP played, where a guy made one using a window motor. Not surprisingly the video did not show a demo of it working . But perhaps a seat motor or starter motor may do it? In saying that though, you can buy 12v motorised scissor Jack's for around 40-50 quid.

Best ones I've seen , if a little scary, were axle stands that had a foot on them, which was flat running to a curve (like a shoe) . Wedge them against the chassis, and reverse back. They'd lift the car as it rolled onto their level foot. They'd only work effectively on non driven end of a 2wd though I would imagine.
