Right, update time.
Cable is attached to interior door handle. There appears to be the same type of resistance as on other door handles but door does not open.
Button was not moving previously, but door card is somewhat bent now.
Think I managed to find the correct but. Hand in via the hole towards the b pillar. found a cable and traced it down. From feel it appears to be attached to a sticky out bit with a hook.
However will not move up or down (Aware down is needed, just tried both ways as I was there)
Any other suggestions would be grand, or it looks like major surgery with an angle grinder
