You can prolong the life of a clutch by pulling away gently. Never hold the clutch down at traffic lights.

Never hold the car still on slight slopes or pedal down in a traffic jam.

On flat roads use 1st, 3rd and fifth gear changes.

If the clutch pedal is held down for more than a few seconds at a time it will start to over heat and fail. ( The slave cylinder. ) It's a rubbish design made from the wrong materials.
