Probably just a coincidence, but I was making the car moveable by cuting away the broken end of the spring and put it nicely back onto the "spring pan". While doing this with the RH side on the jack, the other side broke in the same way. Pretty surprized when I heard the other spring pop!! Had to do the same modification to that side then...
