Car manufacturers were telling people to pull it up on ratchet after a series of cars rolling away.
My understanding of “correct” handbrake use is to hold down the button when applying the hand brake and then thumb off the button and pull up one more notch - or two if ‘that feels right’.

So I suppose I do a bit of both.
