Hi Robert.
I painted the plates the same colour as my car, usually they are just metal, i have also flattened the edges just in case at any time the cable gave way and you need to get the bonnet up, you can use a 10mm ring spanner on the plate bolts.

I had them on the shelf since 2020 and recently got involved with a thread asking how to remove them or adjust them, which spurred me on to finish the project which i did yesterday.

The ones i have taken off will now go back on the shelf.
