Not to mention that within the subscription you get all the updates when they come on stream.

As you say, other editing software is out there and may well suit, some such as Gimp is free and seems very popular too.

I agree with this. Though it won't suit everyone, it's less per month than I pay for Netflix and as Jeff says, it ensures you get all the updates - the Neural filters included in the latest version are amazing. I just hope they don't "do a Photobucket" and increase the monthly fee to a ridiculous level at some point!
