Had the same problem with a Delphi arm it was taken back to the motor factor who sent it back to the maker. Both the arms were replaced at the same time and it was the O/S which failed 950 miles. It was replaced under warranty and as it had been fitted by the garage I use for MOT's it didn't cost me to replace. The ball joint at the suspension strut was the bit that failed with excessive lift.
