When the "genuine" part was fitted, the cone of the balljoint didn't fit into the subframe properly, leaving a 8mm gap between the rubber boot, and the subframe.
It was marked as made in "CN" so another poor Chinese pattern part masquerading as an original at a premium price
As an aside, the TRW part I bought from Autodoc has been fitted for around nine months, and the fit and finish of the part enabled it to be fitted first time without the need to clean up raggy edges, something the "genuine" part certainly needed
I also fitted new pinch bolts, and tightened them to 65nm on recommendations from other posters on here.

Seems to be a theme at the moment, unfortunately supply of 'genuine' parts is quite different than it was some years ago.
It used to be the case that these parts were mostly from the OE supplier to MGR back in the day - now it seems to be more of a pricing exercise than the pursuit of quality.
