The speed limits tend to be applied in response to local pollution, especially where major roads come close to populated areas and no matter what speed I drive at in my EV it's still zero emissions.

Brake pad particulates are much lower on EV's as a majority of the time they use regen braking. Tyre wear is slightly higher but nowhere near as much as the anti-EV brigade claim. After almost 23,000 miles we're still on the original tyres and they still have a long way to go. For comparison my Mercedes C class would chew it's way through a set of rear tyres every 7-10k!
