Many thanks for the responses to my topic.
I have since been onto the Rimmers website and they can supply all the bits I think I would need to repair the car. These are all clutch related
However, as mentioned above in my thread the car is with Beadles of Gillingham who supplied it new to me though they are no longer Rover dealers but still have some of their Rover experienced mechanics which is why I took it to them ( and they seemed happy to oblige!)
They have now told me that they are having difficulty sourcing parts for my car but won't buy from Rimmers as they don't have an account with them and being part of a large motor group will not be able to do anything 'outside the square'
So at the moment the fitter has been told to hang fire on removing the gearbox - a fairly labour intensive job - until they are satisfied they can obtain any parts that need replacing.
Until its fixed the car isn't worth diddly squat.
