A badly fitted port seal doesn't cause low fuel pressure. I suspect the reason was FFS (Fuel Filter Syndrome), which results from a slackening of the filter module cap from the main body. Pump pressure is reduced by the leak. If the pressure is too low the engine will never start. Tightening the filter cap resolves it, but only temporarily. Once the filter has slackened, it will always slacken and the best way to fix this is the FOC (Fabled Orange Clip). If the mechanic didn't fit one, then you should do so asap or FFS will strike again.
