If the slave was outside the bell housing the job would be simple, although in my case it's the Thrust Bearing that's on it's way out.
I've never liked the plastic encased bearings. Back in the day I worked in a shop that specialised in MG's, mainly MGBs. this was when the industry was changing over from the old carbon bearings to the plastic type and we had so much trouble with the plastic we refused to supply them. I now see that this is still an issue.
This time I am having a trusted shop do the job for me. When I put the gearbox back into my MGF in the spring it brought on an episode of atrial fibrillation. That was one time I was glad I have a pacemaker.
Getting old isn't for sissies!
