It might have gone un-noticed but " Trading Standards " is virtually a legend from the dim and distant past. Local councils have been cutting costs for years and a prime target has been T/S officers. Fast food outlets get a 5 yearly visit if they are lucky, and they can wipe out people directly through various food poisons like salmonella etc. the chances of a dodgy used car parts dealer being taken to task are about on par with winning the lottery. My current beef is with chinese produced tools ( ha ha ) sold online. Totally unfit for purpose and a nightmare getting them refunded. OH ! the joy of living in a " buyer beware " society.
