I am quite happy with my XP Pro, everything i own works on it, it is stable and I see no mission of me ever moving "up" to Vista in the foreseeable future. Yes, MS has shot themselves in the foot as far as I and 99% of my colleagues are concerned.
I personally have to date removed 6 Vista installs for customers, and replaced them with XP Pro or Home, and I know I am not alone in doing this.
