And a big thank you to Artic and others who pointed me n the right direction. I fitted a working s/hand unit this morning as it wasn't raining. I squirted some silicon in before fitting. All's good. When the waist level trim arrives from MickeyBoy I'll put the doorcard back on.

I will be dismantling the old unit and having a go at a refurb. as per Artic's How to and Stocktake's advice.
