You've done the first part of the 'Demist Test' for checking the correct operation of the radiator fan. It's worth checking out because it will help diagnose a very common fan issue - failure of the low speed function. When the fan runs in the Demist Test, it should run continuously at te 'low' speed until you press Econ (which turns off the aircon system). If the fan runs is short bursts every 20-30 seconds, then the low speed systen has failed and requires attention.
