Thank you for your replies Chaps. I will try again but I think we have exhausted our efforts here. The link was very useful, and a bit worrying as I cannot move the car in its present state to get it to a T4 chap.

We have tried all methods.

Started by conventional non power assisted pedal and bleed. The pedal straight to the floor, (as would be expected with a new ABS/TC unit) - It was brand new! and yes all plugs removed. Then with engine running.

2nd Method; Pedal and vacuum, both hand pump and compressed air line type, again with using the pedal as well; engine off then on.

3rd Method; Pressurise the master reservoir. Could not get pressure to stay. Hand pumped up to 15-20 psi but it dropped off straight away.

Asking around the workshops here the general consensus was that after the brake system was drained (ABS unit removed) the piston seal(s) in the Master Cylinder may have shrunk. The system was dry for a few months over the summer as I was tied up with other things at the time.

So I have looked for a master cylinder kit but no luck there. The only things found was a host of S/H units (very reluctant as I may end up with the same problem) and one very expensive new unit. As it has cost the best part of £800+ already with looms and ABS/TC units the budget is getting a bit thin!
