Doubt if your V6 repair is economically viable. Would be cheaper to find a replacement engine in known good condition, or even given UK prices a running 75.
Daughter had a very nice 2.5 Tourer (well it was before she forgot we do have a waste bin), anyway had a timing belt jump with subsequent loss of compression. Spare engines are hard to come by so considered rebuilding until I spoke to the owner of the local Rover specialist garage.
He’s been given a dead V6 which suffered the same belt issue, stripped it down, replaced valves etc but when started there was a knock further down in the engine. Car was scrapped.
Figured there wasn’t much point spending time and a small fortune on my daughter’s car if only to have the same outcome, hers was scrapped too.
