My car's a Lurcher!
Hello again, long time since I've been on here. I'm fine and have remained infection free. Got my letter today and am booked in for my first jab on March 8th.
Enough of the banter. This enquiry is about Mo, my 1.8 petrol 75.
I took her for her mot on the 2nd Feb, airbag warning light needed sorting (broken wire under drivers seat), and I also told them to renew the timing belt.
On a drive round to clear rust off the brake discs etc. I noticed she had stopped lurching.
Passed mot with no other advisories, parked her back at home, so today I decided to take her for a run to Chesterfield and back, not stopping, about 20 miles.
All was well until I reached the bottom of Chesterfield Road when she started lurching again. I came straight back home.
She was idling between 1000 and 600 revs, so I did the petrol reset trick. All ok until 2 miles later when she started lurching again.
This has been driving me crazy for a while now.
I'm pretty sure it's not a block in the fuel line. Because it happens in neutral I'm ruling out a clutch problem.
Could it be the in tank pump?
Thank you.
