Thanks Brian, could have done with your expertise today.
Finally finished, but it was a right ball ache to fit the new bush. The old one came off ok with a few taps of the hammer. Struggled like hell to get the new one on
I must have lucked out on the nearside because that went on easily. After a lot of struggling to lever and drive it on I had to jack up the car to get the wishbone to move enough to line up the bolt holes. Eventually sorted it and tightened the bolts up.
Whilst the car was up on the ramps I gave the gearbox a fluid change, well half of it anyway.
I filled the sub-frame with cavity wax especially where I'd been using the blow torch, and also sprayed inside the cills with spray oil to try and preserve them.
I had a little test drive and it all seems a lot better now, no more clunking
A bit dark by the time I was finished so just need a wash and wax tomorrow and I'm all ready for driving to Disneyland on Sunday.
