I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, he/she caused the problem in the first place.
I was in my local Tesco and came out to find the door mirror dangling by the wiring . . . . I was
furious. I went into the shop and asked about CCTV, they looked but the rain was driving straight at the camera lens, couldn't see a thing. "Secured" it with gaffer tape until I did Parker's temp repair. That was so good it lasted months before I replaced the mirror.
