Default A baffling electrical problem.

A few days ago whilst my head lights were on, my cars message centre informed me that the near side low beam lamp had failed.

A couple of days ago (daytime driving) this message centre warning disappeared.

Then earlier today, this bulb failure warning reappeared on my message centre.

During the “failure phase” with headlamps on low beam, the near side light unit still emitted light albeit at a lower intensity.

However, that bulb failure warning disappeared tonight. Both low beam headlamps are currently burning at full intensity.

A bit odd. I wonder whether a cables insulation could have become abraded and shorting – causing a possible current leakage.

Are there any known weak spots that I should inspect, or does this necessitate checking the circuitry with a borrowed ECT2000 tester?

I hope someone is able to offer some constructive suggestions.
