I think the carriers are MGR, not BMW. Good luck finding them on your own.
I'm not sure I'd agree the standard brakes are "dangerous" - bear in mind the E46 320d was more powerful and had the same breaks, a car designed in a country with autobahns.
Refurbing calipers is always expensive (at least if youi need new pistons), especially at BiggRed. If you don't need a fancy paint finish you'd be much better DIY'ing. However, the caliper aren't known for going wrong so you might not need to do anything, esp if the seals etc look ok.

Probably the fact that a ZT CDTi will struggle to do 125, let alone 125+. Mine topped out at 128 and was far from standard.
