Do you have another key / does that operate the remote locking? Does the red light flash when you press either button?
Sounds like your VIS motor has overrun, the originals unlike Stocktake motors have no built in stop. Talking of which, I have some refurbished Stocktake motors at home as I supply many owners in Sweden. They are at cost and tested at least three times before dispatch. Bit different here (than UK) as I supply the motors and ask the owner for the old one back later so they don’t have the car off the road longer than necessary. Never been let down with this routine.
You can test both VIS motors with Toaf, once you get it running.
